Munitis waits on Racing's G-12 bid

RACING SANTANDER are waiting to be welcomed in to the powerful G-12 to enable the club to complete the signing of Real Madrid forward Pedro Munitis.

The G-12 is comprised of the most powerful dozen clubs in Spain while Racing are currently in the G-30, which is the group containing the remaining First and Second Division clubs.

But Racing know if they can gain membership to the elite group, they will be able to wrap up the deal to sign Real outcast Munitis.

The Spanish international spent last season on loan at Racing and is keen to quit Santiago Bernabeu due to his dearth of first-team opportunities.

Munitis admits he is baffled why Real have not yet sanctioned his departure, as they have made it obvious he is not involved in their plans.

The 28-year-old is hoping Real will ultimately grant his wish to leave the Spanish capital but his wages are proving a stumbling block for Racing.

However, if they clinch elevation to the G-12, Racing will have the funds to secure Munitis's signature on a permanent basis.
