Inter coach Roberto Mancini says he is looking to bring in four or five new players.Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini says he is looking to bring in four or five new faces as he attempts to rejuvenate his squad for an assault on Serie A next season.
Whilst The Nerazzurri won the Coppa Italia and lost just two league games they failed to keep pace with Juventus and Milan in the race for the Scudetto.
Mancini admitted that he is also looking to work with a smaller group of players than last season, meaning that marginal squad figures may well be sacrificed.
The likes of Andy van der Meyde and Emre are expected to depart the Giuseppe Meazza, whilst Mancini is keen for an influx of players in those positions in which he deems the side to be weak.
"At the beginning of the past season we found the problem to be many people, more than thirty, and it was difficult," Mancini told the Inter Channel.
"Thirty people can't have training on the same pitch.
"So I expect to have the group reduced a little and to have four or five new players in those roles which at the moment we don't have covered.
"The idea is to make clear insertions in an already tested group."
Two players who could well be on the way to Internazionale are Real Madrid pair Santiago Solari and Walter Samuel.
Nerazzurri supremo Massimo Moratti has already confirmed he is keen to recruit the two Argentinians, although Mancini remained cautious over the chances of finding the pair at Internazionale next season.
"Sometimes you want to do things and you can't," Mancini continued.
"Everyone's target is to do what is useful for the team, as usually the first move will allow the others to begin."
