Defender Raul Bravo has signed a new three-year deal with Real Madrid.
Raul Bravo has signed a new three-year deal with Real Madrid.
The defender would have become a free agent this summer when his contract expired on June 30, but he has now committed his future to Real.
The deal, which the 24-year-old actually signed on Monday, ties him to the Santiago Bernabeu until 2009.
Bravo, who had a spell on loan at Leeds earlier in his career, was being chased by Real Betis amongst others, but always wanted to stay at Real.
He has now got his wish, reaching agreement with the club after around three months of negotiations.
Bravo has not been a regular this term, but looks likely to be given the job of marking Thierry Henry when Real meet Arsenal in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday night and will be looking to celebrate his new contract with a win at Highbury.
