Capello calls for Real focus

Fabio Capello is adamant Madrid must forget the furore surrounding Antonio Cassano.

Fabio Capello is adamant Real Madrid must focus on their game against Steaua Bucharest, regardless of the furore surrounding Antonio Cassano.

The Bernabeu boss suspended the front-man from training on Monday after the pair clashed following Saturday's 3-1 victory at Gimnastic.

Cassano launched a tirade of abuse at the former Roma boss after playing only a fringe role so far this season and claimed he had saved Capello while they were together at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Italian international has been punished for his actions and Capello now wants to draw a line under the affair ahead of the club's important UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday.

"The Cassano story is closed," Capello stated.

"He will train away from the other players and that is it, that is how it will be.

"I never like to sanction players because it means that everyone loses.

"But, what is important is the game against Steaua, not Cassano. I will only talk about the game, the other theme is closed."
