Rafa Benitez admits he is unsure if David de Gea will be arriving at Real Madrid this summer, but has reiterated his desire to keep Sergio Ramos.

With just one year left on his current deal, Sky sources understand Manchester United are resigned to losing De Gea, if not this year then in 2016.

However, speaking after Real’s 4-1 pre-season win over Manchester City in Melbourne, head coach Benitez refused to be drawn on the future of the Spanish goalkeeper.

“I do not know, he is not here and I don’t know,” he is quoted as saying by AS. “I do not usually talk with (Manchester United manager) Louis van Gaal every day.

“In every game I have a goalkeeper in the goal and I am satisfied with that.”

Benitez was also asked about the future of defender Sergio Ramos, who is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United this summer.

Manchester City were beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid in their International Champions Cup clash in Australia.

“When I arrived at the club I spoke with Iker Casillas and Sergio and I knew their situations and they knew my opinion,” said the former Liverpool manager.

“Sergio knew from day one I want him to stay and I am sure he will.”

And asked on the future of striker Karim Benzema, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Benitez said he was "sure he would stay".
