Vitesse delay Yordi talks

By Francisco Acedo & Mitchell Glorie
Vitesse Arnhem have delayed their negotiations for Real Zaragoza striker Yordi until after the weekend.

The Eredivisie outfit are interested in the experienced hit-man, but their pressing priority is a league game with Willem II.

"We are looking for reinforcements all the time but, probably, we can only really do business during the winter break," commented technical director Jan Streuer in Voetbal International.

"Vitesse urgently need experience but everybody can see that."

Former Blackburn Rovers loanee Yordi, 29, has already spoken with Streuer and is interested in the move to Holland.

"We know about the difficulties in making the operation," added a Vitesse source in Marca. "But we are going to go to Zaragoza to negotiate seriously and to bring Yordi to us.

"It is a transfer of a great deal of money for us, but, if it is at all possible, we are going to try to do it."
