Former West Ham flop Simone Zaza gave Valencia an early lead against league leaders Real Madrid at the Mestalla

Simone Zaza showed West Ham fans what they are missing after scoring a sensational goal for new team Valencia against Real Madrid.

The powerful striker left the London Stadium to sign on loan for Los Che in the January transfer window after enduring a torrid few months in front of goal for the Hammers.

So torrid, in fact, that Zaza failed to score a single goal while on loan in London, with few West Ham supporters bemoaning his departure to the Mestalla.

However, despite only joining the La Liga club last month, Zaza has already got off the mark for his new club.

And in front of a huge watching audience against the league leaders on Wednesday, the Italy international opened the scoring early on with a breathtaking effort.

The 25-year-old instantly trapped Munir El Haddadi's cross from the right, before turning and hammering the ball past a motionless Keylor Navas in the blink of an eye.

All of which means Zaza has now scored in back-to-back games, having not hit the back of the net in his other 15 matches for Valencia and West Ham this season!
