Midfielder suffers double fracture in training

Pablo Piatti is set to miss most of Valencia's UEFA Champions League group campaign after breaking his arm in training. The Argentinian was taken to hospital with a double fracture of his right arm and is now expected to be out for at least two months. It means he will be absent for Champions League games against Bayern Munich, Lille and the double header against Bate Borisov. He will also face a race against time to be fit for the home clash with Bayern on November 20th. The 23-year-old has only made one substitute appearance so far this season, when he came on as a 66th minute substitute in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernebau. But he is sure to be a loss to Mauricio Pellegrino's side, who lie in 17th place in La Liga, having opened the campaign with just two points from three games.

Hospital

A club statement read: "Piatti is going to remain in hospital for the next 48 hours and, save any complications, will be discharged after this period. "Due to the precaution needed in these cases, the estimated recovery period is between eight and 10 weeks."
