Bulgaria international Martin Petrov is frustrated after seeing his proposed move to Atletico Madrid collapse.
Wolfsburg turned down a é¼6 million offer for the highly-rated striker as the bid was deemed insufficient as far as the club were concerned.
"I am very disappointed," admitted the speedy forward, who had already agreed personal terms with the Spanish club before new Wolfsburg coach Holger Fach pulled the plug on the move after Atletico failed to match the asking price of é¼10 million.
Petrov felt that the Wolves should have accepted Atletico's offer and is threatening to leave the club on a free transfer in 2007.
"Maybe I will head off in two years' time when my contract expires and then the club won't get any money for me," he fumed.
"However, the only good thing is that I know where I stand now and am able to focus on my future in Wolfsburg," added the former Servette star, who joined the Wolves back in 2001.
