Mateja Kezman says he has no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.
Mateja Kezman says he has no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid this summer as he looks to prove his quality in La Liga.
The former Chelsea man scored just ten goals last season for the capital club and had been linked with an exit from Vicente Calderon.
A number of clubs have registered their interest in the Serbian international but Kezman says he has spurned their advances in order to prove himself at Atletico.
"I have received several offers to change club but the decision is clear," said Kezman.
"I do not want to waste time with this subject.
"My unique objective is to continue with Atletico because I desire to win there.
"[I have] never believed in the option of my exit.
"The directors have always had confidence in me and it was impossible to have any other response than to continue.
"From the first day the people helped in my adaptation to this club.
"I think that the supporters are key in Atletico."
The former PSV Eindhoven hot-shot has yet to hit the goal trail ever since leaving Holland in 2004, and after his disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge, Kezman is now looking to show his qualities in his second season in Spanish football.
"In Spain people have still not seen the real Kezman," the striker added.
"I have much strength for this season and I desire to demonstrate my best in the field.
"Now I am very motivated to succeed in Spain."
Kezman endured a terrible World Cup campaign during which he was red carded in the 6-0 capitulation at the hands of Argentina, and the striker says he has now put his German misery behind him.
"That is forgotten for me, Germany is history."
