Diego Godin feels Uruguay have the firepower to tear Mexico to pieces in their meeting on Tuesday.
The two sides are set to meet in Rustenburg during the final round of Group A fixtures.
They are currently locked together at the top of the table, with four points apiece taken from their two games so far.
Both need just one more point to book a safe passage into the knockout stages, with France and South Africa currently languishing behind.
Uruguay have no plans of playing out a tame draw, though, and Godin is confident they can put on a show against the Mexicans.
"Mexico will be a difficult rival just as all the teams in the World Cup are," said the uncompromising defender.
"They play good football but we have the weapons to destruct their game and we know how to cause them damage."
Calm
Godin also insists that nobody within the Uruguay camp has allowed themselves to get carried away by Wednesday's impressive 3-0 victory over South Africa.
The Villarreal man added: "We are well. We are calm and with less euphoria than in previous days.
"Our only thoughts are on Mexico and how to control possession, create goalscoring opportunities and finish them off.
"We have not conceded a goal so far and that is very important.
"If we do the same against Mexico, then we will have progressed to the next round and anything can happen from then on."
