Derby County are lining up a deal for Spanish prospect Ivan Calero, Sky Sports understands.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is a product of Atletico Madrid's academy, and he has spent the last couple of seasons playing for their B side.
Calero has been involved with Diego Simeone's first team and was called up for a Europa League match in 2013.
The Spanish youth international, who can play as a lone striker or anywhere across the forward line, is now a free agent and he has linked up with Derby as they enter pre-season.
Steve McClaren is now casting his eye over the teenager with a view to handing him a permanent deal.
