Racing Santander's Javi Guerrero claims Espanyol are interested in signing him.Racing Santander striker Javi Guerrero has revealed that Espanyol are interested in signing him on a free transfer in the summer.
The 29-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and has resolved to move on as a free agent.
Guerrero has finished as top scorer at Racing for the past three campaigns and has seven goals to his name this time around.
Given his contractual status he is sure to be a target for a number of clubs in the close season and was linked with Deportivo La Coruna earlier this term.
However, while not wanting to openly discuss his future 'out of respect' to current club Racing, Guerrero has confirmed Espanyol are one of the clubs on his trail.
When asked how he knew of the Catalans' interest, he stated: "My agents have told me of it.
"I know they have spoken, but I would not know what stage the contacts are at and what is going to happen.
"I also know that other clubs have called."
Meanwhile, Espanyol are also reported to be casting an eye over talented Silkeborg defender Jonas Troest.
The young Dane believes he is ready for a move to one of Europe's biggest leagues, but insists he has yet to hold talks with interested suitors.
"It would be a dream come true," Troest told Ritzau.
"I am well aware that foreign clubs are eyeing me, but I haven't talked with any club."
