The Spain U21 international linked up with the Swans from La Liga outfit Getafe over the summer.
He has had to be patient in his pursuit of regular game time at the Liberty Stadium, but has seen the misfortune of others play into his hands.
Injuries to Michu and Wilfried Bony suggest he could be set for a prolonged run in Michael Laudrup's side, and the 22-year-old plans on making the most of that opportunity and earning an extended stay in the Premier League.
Vazquez said in the Daily Star Sunday: "It's a shame to have the chance because the other players are injured but I've been working hard in case the chance came along.
"I will do my best if the boss picks me to play.
"I am really happy playing in the Premier League. I like Swansea, I am living here with my family and I would love to stay at the club for longer.
"It's a really good club to be at because of the amount of Spanish players.
"I'm trying my best to convince the boss. If I do well in the next few games then I hope it will help me."
