The Sicilians took the lead on 24 minutes when Nigerian striker Stephen Makinwa took a through ball from Mario Santana before rounding Brondby goalkeeper Casper Ankergren and slipping the ball into an empty net.
Just before the break, the Rosaneri doubled their advantage when defender Leandro Rinaudo headed home Fabio Grosso's set-piece.
Things were made even worse for the visiting Danes in first half injury time, as defender Thomas Rytter was sent off for a second bookable offence.
