AZ Alkmaar have confirmed they are in talks with Espanyol over the potential transfer of defender Hector Moreno.
Meetings are expected to take place this week between AZ technical director Earnest Stewart and chiefs from the Barcelona-based club.
Moreno is contracted at the Eredivisie side until summer 2014, but the 23-year-old Mexico international has expressed an interest in a Spanish move.
AZ's general manager Toon Gerbrands told Voetbal International: "That's all true. A delegation from the club will meet this week with Alkmaar to discuss the details."
The departure of AZ owner Dirk Scheringa last year due to bankruptcy means the Dutch club are keen to offload some of their more expensive players.
Italian attacker Graziano Pelle has already announced he will leave Alkmaar for Parma this summer.
