The 25-year-old stopper has struggled to make the breakthrough to the Depor first team since joining from Sporting Gijon in the summer of 2002.
Amo was initially brought in as cover for Portuguese defender Jorge Andrade, who suffered a serious foot injury shortly after joining the Galician outfit.
However, Amo has failed to make a single appearance for Javier Irureta's (pictured) men this term, and Sociedad are now pondering a move for the highly-rated defender.
The Basque outfit are reported to be keen to bring centre half to Estadio Anoeta for next season, and have made initial enquiries for him.
Depor will not let the player go during the transfer window as Moroccan international Nourredine Naybet jetted off for African Cup of Nations duty, and Amo is needed to provide cover.
But he could well be interested in the prospect of a summer move to kickstart his stuttering career, though Depor would be likely to fight to retain his services.
