Lionel Scaloni says Javier Mascherano is keen on a move to Deportivo.Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Lionel Scaloni has revealed that compatriot Javier Mascherano is very keen on a move to the Galician club.
Scaloni is a good friend of the River Plate starlet who has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs including Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Depor.
The two have spoken a number of times about the possibility of Mascherano moving to Spain and Scaloni has advised the youngster on the benefits of opting for a move to Depor.
He insists the 20-year-old needs to be playing on a regular basis and feels that he would have the ideal environment at the Riazor.
"I have spoken many times with him about this matter and Mascherano would be delighted to come to Deportivo because it is a club that fights for many things," Scaloni stated.
"What's more I believe this is the ideal club for him because at his age he needs to be playing and that could be more difficult for him at a bigger club.
"We have not spoken about financial details, but he is clear about how he would feel in the city if he came.
"He's a great young lad, who has humility and has already won the Olympic Games. He has an enormous future."
