Juanfran: Door open to Depor

Juanfran admits he would be tempted by a move back to Spain with Deportivo.

Besiktas defender Juanfran admits he would be tempted by a move back to Spain with Deportivo La Coruna.

The former Celta Vigo full back, 29, moved to Besiktas last summer, primarily for the opportunity to link up with then-boss Vicente Del Bosque who also coached him during his time as Spain manager.

However, the Turkish outfit sacked Del Bosque in January which in turn cast doubt over the player's future.

Juanfran was subsequently linked with a loan switch to Manchester City during the transfer window although no move ultimately materialised.

He is now being touted as a summer target for Depor, although Depor fans are reported to be less than enamoured with the idea given the player's links to Galician rivals Celta.

Juanfran conceded he would consider a move to the Riazor, but insisted he had not been approached by the Spaniards.

"The truth is that I have no idea, it's the first I have heard of it," he told Marca when quizzed about the speculation.

"There are still two months left until the league ends and so it's too soon to talk.

"What I can say is that there is absolutely nothing in it as far as I'm concerned, not even 0.1 percent of reality.

"They have not contacted me at all and speaking about it now would not achieve much.

"Would I go to Depor? It's something I can't really answer, but perhaps it could happen one day. I'm not discounting it.

"In football you can not say no to anything. It's better not to say anything too definitive because it can come back to haunt you. No player would say he wouldn't go to a big club.

"I still have two more seasons left in Turkish football, but when the league season finishes we will look at things.

"The Spanish league is better, and if I leave here it will be for well-known reasons and because I liked the idea of working with Del Bosque.

"I have spent a year here and I miss a lot of things about Spain."
