Midfielder Sergio believes that Deportivo La Coruna have gone 'stagnant'.Sergio believes that Deportivo La Coruna have gone stagnant and is unhappy with Joaquin Caparros' squad rotation system, but remains confident that things will improve.
The Spain international has been asked to play on the right side of midfield as the coach tests new systems in a bid to kick-start the team's season.
"I do not like the squad rotations," he told the club's official website.
"I always want to play in every game. However, it is the coach that obviously has the final word.
"The trainer is trying things out and if he wants me to play there I will, but I prefer playing in the middle."
Depor fought back from two goals behind last weekend to earn a 3-3 draw against Barcelona, but Sergio still thinks that more work needs to be done.
"We have still not found our rhythm," the former Espanyol midfielder continued.
"Towards the end of our InterToto Cup run we seemed to be stronger, but things have gone stagnant now.
"But I am not the coach and I do not have any badges either.
"Caparros wants a strong defensive unit and it is clear that we do not have that yet.
"We have to improve in training because I think that we have the players to achieve it."
After winning their first two games of the season, Depor have failed to pick up maximum points in their next five outings, although they have earned four draws and only one defeat.
This weekend they travel to Real Sociedad looking to build on the impressive second half performance against Barca, but Sergio warns that the team must not be too anxious to win.
"It is important to win, but it is not make or break," he explained. "We all want to win, but we need to go into the game focused and to stay calm."
