Deportivo La Coruna skipper Lionel Scaloni wants to return to the international fold with Argentina.
The defender's New Year resolution is to force his way into Jose Pekerman's World Cup plans.
The South Americans will start the finals in Germany as one of the favourites to lift the trophy and Scaloni wants a piece of the action.
"I begin the year very optimistically in all senses after six very difficult months for us," he explained.
"It was a bad year for Deportivo for injuries and the results."
Although not back to his best, the combative stopper is convinced 2006 will be a good year for him.
"I am still not playing 100 percent," he explained. "But the positives are returning little by little.
"My dream is to return to the national team, although I know that the situation is not easy because we are in a World Cup year and the competition is enormous.
"But this season Deportivo are able to do great things."
