Last season was a terrible time for Palermo, having broken his leg whilst celebrating a goal in the Copa del Rey which kept him out from November until June with an horrific double fracture.
"I am really anxious, sometimes I try to think that I have already gone through these situations, but I can't," said Palermo.
He added: "I have that feeling but I remain very anxious because I can't score. I even think that the supporters transmit the same feeling to me, I want to give them much more, also to the team, and to myself.
"I want to score because that makes you feel better and stronger. When you score, everything is easier."
Palermo arrived in Villarreal in January 2001 and has not played as well as expected, something he is conscious about: "We all have a period in which we don't play very well or as everyone expects to, besides that I don't have to demonstrate anything to anyone.
"You can score goals anywhere, in any team and in any part of the world, so if I did that before I can do that now."
