The Brazilian striker who joined the Yellow Submarines from Lyon is set to embark on his second spell in Spanish football, following his time with Barcelona.
The 32-year-old is confident that his new club can make an impression on the top end of the Spanish table next term.
"I have returned to play in Spain because I am confident this team can go far next season," said Anderson.
"We can try and fight the Uefa Cup places and if things go well we could dream about getting into the Champions League.
"I have come to Villarreal to do the best I can and to bring my experience but I don't feel like the star of the team.
"There are a lot of good players here, and with the new ones that are arriving we can achieve great things."
The former Monaco ace played down comparisons with Martin Palermo whom he is set to replace in Benito Floro's starting line-up, insisting their playing styles were completely contrasting.
He added: "I have not come as a substitute for Martin Palermo, he has his characteristics and I have mine.
"I feel good and believe I can bring many things to Villarreal in the two years of contract I have signed."
