The Argentine defender has enjoyed his time in La Liga, and would prefer to stay on at the club rather then return to Serie A.
"I have been told that there are problems for me continuing with Villarreal," admitted Coloccini.
"I still haven't spoken to anyone at either club about what will happen to me when my loan expires.
"I would like to stay at Villarreal because I am very comfortable in the team and in the city.
"I know that my future depends on what Milan decide so I have to wait and hope that they will get things resolved and can stay at this club."
