The stopper tore a thigh muscle during Saturday's clash with the Galicians, and looks set be out of action for around a month.
Cruchaga sustained the injury when attempting a clearance, and admitted he immediately knew he had caused considerable damage, stating: "I felt something go."
The 29-year-old centre back will undergo further tests later in the week to assess the full extent of the damage, but the news will be a big blow to Osasuna boss Javier Aguirre.
Cruchaga has been a key figure in the Navarra-based outfit's best start to a top-flight league campaign since the 1990/91 season, and his absence from the heart of the Osasuna rearguard will be sorely felt.
