Osasuna confirm Larsson interest

Osasuna have confirmed they are in the race to sign Celtic striker Henrik Larsson in the summer.

Coach Javier Aguirre has revealed the club are hoping to sign the prolific Swede when he leaves Celtic at the end of the season.

Aguirre is a big fan of Larsson and would love to bring him to The Estadio El Sadar.

"Larsson is an option. He is a very interesting player, and to me it seems attractive," Aguirre told Radio Marca.

"The man wants to come to Spain and we will deliver an attack to bring to him.

"It is in our agenda, and if he does become available, we will take advantage of it."

Larsson is leaving Celtic in the summer when his contract expires as he seeks a new challenge and a number of top clubs are hoping to land him.

Larsson has previously admitted he would be interested in a move to Spain although his wages could be a problem for Osasuna.

The former Feyenoord star's signature is set to be one of the most sought-after during the close season and Osasuna will fear that a bigger club will beat them to the punch to sign Larsson.
