Edu eyes Champions League

Betis midfielder Edu is dreaming of a Champions League place.

Betis midfielder Edu is keeping his feet on the ground after the Andalucian club moved into third place at the weekend and could begin dreaming of a Champions League place.

But the Brazilian wideman has warned that there is still a long way to go although he is excited by the possibility of competing against the continent's best teams next term in the Champions League.

"There have been many teams that have been in fashion this season and have made headlines," said Edu. "Firstly Espanyol, then Villarreal and now us.

"But there is still a lot of games left and we must continue to work like we have been doing.

"The first two places have already been taken by Barcelona and Real Madrid I think and there are six teams that are fighting for third and fourth.

"We are certainly one of the sides that is fighting to be in Europe and to play in the Champions League would be phenomenal and, although it is tough, we are ready to battle for that."

Betis moved into the top four for the first time this season after they beat Deportivo La Coruna 2-0 at the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.
