Edu claims qualifying for the Champions League has proved a mixed blessing for Betis.Real Betis midfielder Edu admits that qualifying for the UEFA Champions League this season has proved something of a mixed blessing.
The Spaniards have recovered from a poor start to sit third in Group G behind Liverpool and Chelsea, but the Brazilian feels the European adventure has come at a cost.
"You only have to look at the treatment room to see that it's full of injured players and many of them aren't able to play in the league," said Edu.
The 27-year-old also believes that his side have not had the reward their league performances have merited as they continue to languish in the wrong half of the table.
However, he hopes the forthcoming derby with cross-town rivals Sevilla can prove a turning point.
"I think that Betis deserves to have more points in the table because we are playing a good style of football," he continued.
"We are not having luck with results, there have been games that we have deserved to win and we haven't.
"Now we have to think about the match against Sevilla and start to get three points from each match again."
