Real Betis defender Daniel Lembo has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.Real Betis defender Daniel Alejandro Lembo has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken ankle.
The Uruguayan has endured an injury-plagued campaign having made only two leagues appearances all term.
The 28-year-old was attempting to battle his way back to full fitness having recently strained the ligaments in his left ankle.
However, the ankle gave way in a training session and, after an awkward fall, Lembo has been given the news he least wanted.
"I have a fracture in the ankle and must spend at least three weeks without moving it," he explained.
It will then take the stopper a further six weeks at least to regain match fitness meaning he is unlikely to appear again this term.
The news is a big blow for Betis boss Lorenzo Serra Ferrer who has seen his plans disrupted by numerous injuries all season.
