Despite being one of Spain's premier talents, Juanfran remains one of the lowest paid members of the Celta squad and president Horacio Gomez's act to offer new terms reflects this.
The Spanish international has put contract talks on hold until the end of the season, but has the offer from Gomez on the table.
Next year Juanfran is expected to get married to a Vigoan girl and although talks are suspended, it would appear that the player is settling down for life in the area.
Having arrived from Valencia four seasons ago, Juanfran has quietly established himself as one of La Liga's top performers.
With the Spanish national side suffering a dearth of defenders he has also been allowed to impress on the international stage.
Meanwhile, Celta are looking for a South American side for Ivan Kaviedes.
The Ecuadorian striker's options are limited with the European transfer market closed and having never really established himself with Celta, a move to the Americas would appear appealing.
