As previously reported on Planetfootball.com, Juanfran has been offered improved terms by Celta as the Spanish international mulls over his long-term future.
The extension gives Celta the option to renew the contract in 2004 until 2007, which could well see Juanfran end his career with the club.
Along with Juanfran, Alexander Mostovoi and Gustavo Lopez are also in talks with the Celta management, however, the duo are out of contract in the summer and may feel they want to take their chances elsewhere.
The 29-year-old Lopez has already been offered an improved contract but he is yet to tell the Vigo outfit of his plans.
Mostovoi, on the other hand, at 33 is looking for the security of a two-year deal which the club are still to decide upon, despite president Horacio Gomez declaring that he would like the Russian to continue with them although it is believed he is only willing to offer a 12-month contract.
Real Sociedad have offered Mostovoi a way out of Galicia, which the midfielder could well take.
