Asier Illarramendi hit an absolute screamer on Friday night to secure Real Sociedad a 2-1 La Liga victory away at Espanyol.
Carlos Vela opened the scoring for the visitors in the 26th minute, controlling a fine pass from David Zurutuza and neatly slotting a left-footed finish past Diego Lopez.
The lead was short-lived, however, with Hernan Perez cutting inside to evade defenders Yuri Berchiche and Inigo Martinez before coolly side-footing home.
But Illarramendi restored Sociedad's advantage just after the hour mark with a brilliant solo goal, picking up possession level with the centre-circle before advancing and unleashing a wonderful curling effort to find the top corner.
And the superb goal from the former Real Madrid midfielder proved to be the winner as Sociedad moved into fourth place in La Liga at the expense of Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone's side have the chance to respond on Sunday evening when they take on Celta Vigo, live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports Mix.
