Real scare over Turkish duo

REAL SOCIEDAD could lose Turkish pair Nihat Kahveci and Korkut Tayfun for their final two games of the season if Turkey national team boss Senol Gunes selects the duo for his Confederations Cup squad.

The tournament clashes with Real's league games against Celta Vigo on June 15 and Atletico Madrid on June 22.

"If you don't go you can have problems as I've found out in the past," said Tayfun.

"I think it is best to try and find a solution for everyone and for that you have to talk."

Tayfun refused to play in a friendly game for Turkey last year and was subsequently one of the shock omissions from his country's World Cup squad.

However, the midfielder is confident a solution will be found, describing the Turkish Football Federation as 'men of football'.

"They are good people and they understand how things work in football, and what the situation is at Real.

"I don't think they would do anything to harm the team (Real) and we will look to find a solution.

"The tournament (Confederations Cup) that will take place during the end of our season is important for the country in terms of prestige, but I hope they understand our situation and let us stay here."
