Bravo delight at Sociedad switch

Claudio Bravo has described his move to Real Sociedad as a dream come true.

Claudio Bravo has described his move to Real Sociedad as a dream come true after penning a five-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper moved to the Anoeta from Colo Colo for a reported fee of ‚é¼1.2 million (£840,000) at the end of June.

Bravo has revealed that he spoke with compatriot Mark Gonzalez, who spent last season on loan at Sociedad, before deciding on the switch to Spain.

"It is a dream for me," he said. "I have a great desire to come to Spain and to Real. I have joined a historic club and I cannot wait to start playing.

"I spoke to Mark and he said great things about the club.

"It was a big decision to leave my country, because there are not many Chilean keepers playing abroad, but that was an added motivation.

"I know that there is competition for places at the club, but I am used to that."

Sociedad now have two goalkeepers secured to long-term deals after first-choice Asier Riesgo signed a new deal through to 2010 in June.
