Morten Skoubo has dismissed reports that he wants to quit Real Sociedad and return to Denmark and insists that he is looking forward to partnering Darko Kovacevic up front.
The 26-year-old forward was shocked to read in a San Sebastian newspaper that he was homesick and trying to seek a way of leaving Spain to return home.
"I heard something about that and I would like to investigate to find out if this person knows more about my life than I do," he said.
"I love being here and look forward to the challenge of succeeding at Real Sociedad.
"The people here have always been great from the first day and I have no reason to be unhappy. I honestly have no idea where this story has come from."
Skoubo moved to Real Sociedad in the last winter transfer window and was an immediate hit, but injury has dampened the start to his first full season at the club.
After picking up an Achilles injury he missed pre-season, but is now on the verge of a return to action and cannot wait to start playing again.
"I am improving every day and am now able to run faster and with boots on," he said. "If things continue like this then I can rejoin the squad next week and in two or three weeks I hope to be available for the coach.
"At last I am able to see light at the end of the tunnel."
During his first few months in Spain, Skoubo was unable to link up with Kovacevic as the Serbian striker missed the second half of the campaign with an injury.
But when the Dane recovers from his ankle injury, he hopes to finally be able to form a lethal partnership.
"Last season, when I arrived here, Darko was injured and now it is me that is out, but I hope that we can play together soon," Skoubo said.
"Of course, it will be down to the coach."
