Injured Internazionale defender Ivan Cordoba admits it could be at least another month before he returns to full training.
Cordoba ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in the UEFA Champions League last 16 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in February and is working his way back to fitness.
But while the Colombian centre-back is confident he will be able to return to light running in time for the start of pre-season, he accepts it could be August at the earliest before he is fit to participate in training matches.
"It's expected to take five to six months," Cordoba told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The knee has responded well (to treatment) but I have to keep working on the muscles.
"At the start of pre-season training I will be able to join my team-mates with the aerobic and tactical work, but it will be another month before I can join in the training matches."
Cordoba, though, is motivated to regain full fitness in order to experience life at Giuseppe Meazza under Mourinho.
"I met him (Mourinho) on his presentation day," added Cordoba. "He seemed nice and easygoing.
"Speaking to his ex-players what struck me about him was that he always protects his squad and uses the ball from the first day of pre-season training."
