Experienced striker takes up new challenge

Reggina have agreed a deal with Torino for veteran striker Nicola Amoruso. The 33-year-old was a summer transfer target for Lazio, but protracted discussions with the Rome giants have broken down and the Biancocelesti have now missed out on the player's signature. The former Juventus forward played a crucial role in helping Reggina beat the drop last season and had attracted interest from a number of Serie A clubs. However, Torino have won the battle for his services and he leaves Stadio Oreste Granillo after three memorable seasons. "Reggina would like to announce that they have sold Amoruso to Torino on a permanent basis," read a statement on Reggina's official website. "The club offers its best wishes for the player's future as he was a key player in three unforgettable seasons." The financial details involved in the deal are yet to be released, while the news has thrown the future of Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi into doubt as he had been expected to complete a switch to Torino.
