England star delighted with time at AC Milan

David Beckham insists his future lies in America and that he only left the MLS to prolong his international career. The LA Galaxy midfielder spent the back end of last season at AC Milan, where he impressed, in what proved to be a successful bid to get back in the England squad. Beckham is now back with Galaxy but will return to Italy once his commitments with his parent club are complete in December. While admitting he has loved every minute of his time back in Europe with one of the continent's leading clubs, Beckham has repeatedly stated his continued commitment to football Stateside. "When I had it in my mind to try and go on loan and to try to stay in the England team, I knew I had to stay at this level," Beckham told Sky Sports News, when quizzed on why he had moved to Milan. "The only way to do that was to try and go to a big club. They don't get much bigger than AC Milan. "I've enjoyed my six months here. At first I always planned on going for the three months and then returning for the MLS season. "But with things going so well, my fitness being good and my performances being pretty good, Milan showed a lot of interest in me staying. "Of course once when they said they wanted me to stay until the end of the season that's what I wanted to do."
