Juventus have virtually secured the signing of Catania striker Jorge Martinez, according to chief director Pietro Lo Monaco.
Martinez has been courting the interest of several Serie A clubs, but Juventus emerged as favourites to snap up the Uruguayan after reaching a 'verbal agreement' for his services.
And Lo Monaco says the 27-year-old will be exiting the club, with an official announcement on his signing expected next week.
The deal is thought to have cost the Old Lady in the region of €12million (£10m) and Martinez's arrival will mean CSKA Moscow and Serbia star Milos Krasic stays put at the Russian outfit.
Martinez was a surprise exclusion from his country's final 23-man squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa, but he has impressed enough to earn a move to Stadio Olimpico.
"We must say goodbye to him because from now he's a Juventus player," Lo Monaco said of Martinez to Sky Italia.
"For this reason I wanted to do the compliments to him because he will wear a really important jersey."
