Tommaso Rocchi is looking forward to a successful season with Lazio after remaining at the club over the summer.
The veteran striker, 32, had been linked with a move elsewhere during the transfer window, with Fiorentina thought to be interested.
However, the deadline has now passed and Rocchi insists he is happy to still be in Rome.
Lazio have made a number of eye-catching signings, including Brazilian midfielder Hernanes, and Rocchi is excited about what could be achieved this term.
"The club moved well on the transfer market and now coach Edy Reja has a competitive side at his disposal," he said in the Italian press.
"The team is stronger than in previous years, we signed well-chosen players for particular roles and there is some real strength in depth.
"Now it's up to the side to accept Reja's decisions. I am sure we will have a great season.
"There are still four teams out there stronger than we are, but there are another six with which we can challenge for access to the Europa League. We can do it."
Rocchi, who has scored 74 goals for Lazio in six years, admits he would love to bring up his century before he retires.
"I would love to reach 100 goals in Serie A, but the real objective is to be important for this team and give my contribution to Lazio," he stated.
