Sunday afternoon saw the Biancocelesti suffer their seventh defeat of the Serie A season as a 4-1 reverse at promoted Hellas Verona left them 10th in the table and only six points clear of the relegation zone.
They are also without a win on the road this term and have taken just six points from their last eight games.
Reports in Italy suggest the Lazio board are now ready to dismiss the Bosnian and reinstate his predecessor Edy Reja, but Petkovic feels he will still be in the Olimpico dugout when Inter Milan visit Rome after the winter break.
He told the Corriere dello Sport: "I have a contract with Lazio to June 2014, I cannot imagine a situation where I don't complete it.
"Every coach has times when he doesn't feel comfortable and this time it's me, but we'll see what the future brings."
Lucas Biglia cancelled out Luca Toni's early strike at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi but Hellas kicked on and took all three points with further goals from Juan Iturbe, Romulo, and Toni.
Petkovic feels Lazio were hard done by and pointed out a spell of heavy pressure during which Lorik Cana and Ogenyi Onazi were unlucky not to beat Verona keeper Rafael.
"We dominated the game," he added. "It seems absurd to say it in the light of the final scoreline, but we had so many opportunities and the result does not reflect how the game went.
"In this part of the season we have created so much but achieved so little. We've made too many mistakes in defence and attack and that's caused us to lose a bit of confidence."
