The 17-year-old had reportedly attracted interest from a host of European sides including Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool, but he recently revealed he had narrowed down his offers to just two clubs, one from England, one from Italy.
Berisha was the top scorer in last year's under-17s World Cup while representing Sweden and Sunderland are believed to be the English club he was negotiating with.
However, the youngster has confirmed that Roma is looking to be a likely destination and he spoke about his ambitions of partnering Francesco Totti up front for the Serie A side.
"Roma is a big club, it might be a dream to play for that club," he told Fotbollskanalen.se.
"Berisha and Totti sounds like a dream. But I believe he will retire before I reach the first team. It will be the U-21 team for me at the club I join."
