The Montenegrin forward has returned to full fitness in recent weeks after struggling in the opening months of the season following his move from Fiorentina.
His lack of playing time saw him linked with a return to Serie A, but he and his representatives have always insisted that he was more than happy in England as he wanted to prove himself with City.
"I read many rumours about a possible return to Italy, but after only six months in which I had three months of injuries," he explained.
"I have not thought to return. I want to stay here and prove myself with Manchester City.
"Do I miss Italy and Florence? Yeah, I lived there for five years, Florence is a beautiful city and I have many friends there. But I'm not saying I want to come back, I'm fine here."
Jovetic admitted he was disappointed to have missed out on featuring against Barcelona.
"I would have loved to play but the coach decided not to and I respect that," he added.
Jovetic maintained the City stance that referee Jonas Eriksson impacted on the game, which Barca won 2-0.
"Martin Demichelis' foul on Lionel Messi was outside the penalty area but the referee was too far from the action.
"And his decisions have influenced the match."
