The Morocco international secured a switch to Italy in January, with Fulham agreeing to the early cancellation of a season-loan agreement with Queens Park Rangers.
With there seemingly no future for the 24-year-old at Loftus Road, even if Harry Redknapp oversees a successful promotion push, Taarabt is exploring other options.
He is delighted to have been offered the chance to shine at one of European football's most prestigious clubs, and intends to make the most of that opportunity.
Taarabt has impressed during his short time in Serie A - netting twice in four appearances - and he hopes that Milan coach Clarence Seedorf will take up the option of bringing him on board full-time when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.
He told L'Equipe: "I have been made to feel very welcome by everyone at the club. On every level, people have tried to put me at ease.
"Coach Seedorf has shown trust in me and I feel good.
"It is a dream to be in Milan and I hope it is only the start of a great adventure.
"I have four months in which to try and convince the club to sign me permanently, because I want to stay here."
