The Argentinian international is considered as being simply not for sale, with Real Madrid and Manchester United also interested in the player during the close season.
"An Italian newspaper called me and said it could happen," revealed Zanetti. "I must travel on Wednesday or Thursday to Milan.
"There, I will speak with the leaders. It does not depend on me, but on them.
"If the club wants to sell, I will speak with the people of Barcelona," he told Ole. "If I must stay, there is no problem because I take it all well."
The player is recovering from injury at present, but he is expected to be fit for the start of the season.
