In an incredible result at the Giuseppe Meazza, Milan recorded their best result against Inter in the league and surely piled on the pressure on Marco Tardelli, although he has already been announced as coach for next season.
Gianni Comandini set the ball rolling in just the third minute with a close-range effort and doubled his side's advantage 16 minutes later with a well taken header.
Milan went into the break 2-0 up and cruising, but in the second half, Inter crumbled to a humiliating defeat.
Frederico Giunti got the third, just eight minutes into the second period with a brilliant free-kick and it was a surprise that it took Ukrainian hit-man Andrei Shevchenko (pictured) so long to get on the scoresheet.
He eventually managed to head home in the 67th minute and got his second eleven minutes later, with another close range shot.
Brazilian star Serginho completed the rout in the 81st minute, with a super run and confident finish to complete a miserable day for Inter.
In Florence it was Zinedine Zidane who pulled the strings as Juve strode to a 3-1 win over Fiorentina.
Zidane got the opening goal of the game in the 24th minute and his cross was met by Igor Tudor to make it two, just before the half-hour.
Marco Rossi appeared to have got the home side back into the game with a strike five minutes from the interval, however, French international David Trezeguet latched onto a superb counter-attacking move to head home the third a minute from time.
