Bologna in race for Bastia

BOLOGNA are chasing Argentinian midfielder Adrian Bastia to replace starlet Matteo Brighi at the end of the season.

Brighi (pictured) is only on loan at Dall'Ara Stadium from Juventus and will return to Stadio Delle Alpi in the summer, leaving Francesco Guidolin to scour the world for a suitable replacement.

Top of his shopping list is Racing Club midfielder Bastia, although Bologna have yet to lodge a bid for the 23-year-old as Guidolin is awaiting the views of the club's scouts.

Guidolin is also monitoring Perugia star Giovanni Tedesco who is expected to quit his Serie A side in the summer but the Rossoblu coach's hopes of keeping Lamberto Zauli are set to be dashed.

The midfielder is on loan from Vicenza who will sell Zauli to one of the Serie A giants during the close season.

One further player tipped to be heading for the Bologna exit door is defender Marcello Castellini, who is being tracked by Internazionale, although he is unfazed by the speculation.

Castellini said: "We have still to play seven games. I want to care only about Bologna now."

His likely replacement will be Brazilian Fabio Bilica, who is not anticipated to stay with Venezia when they are relegated to Serie B.
