The saga surrounding Dejan Stankovic looks set to continue as both Internazionale and Juventus believe they have agreed to sign him.
The troubled Lazio star has long been linked with an exit from Stadio Olimpico with the only question being where he would be heading out to.
Juventus believed that they had come to an agreement with his club Lazio over a move to Turin, while Inter had said that they had agreed with the player for him to move to Milan.
The Eternal City side have now chosen to try and clear up the confusion by releasing a statement saying that no club has been given permission to speak to Stankovic and that no deal has been agreed as yet.
"With reference to the news posted in the media in the last few days, Lazio announce that we have never authorised any football club to make agreements or to start negotiations with the player Dejan Stankovic," said a Lazio statement.
"Lazio also reaffirm their human and professional esteem for the player Dejan Stankovic, whose loyalty to the club has been showed frequently.
"He has said he will snub any possible transfer if there is not an adequate economic recompense for Lazio."
Everything will become clearer once the transfer window opens in Italy on January 2, and Stankovic's future should be sorted out soon.
