Inter included Javier Zanetti, who played the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win, and Kily Gonzalez, who was an unused substitute, in the squad making it impossible for the pair to join Argentina's squad.
Argentina have a crunch World Cup qualifier against Ecuador on Tuesday, however coach Marcelo Bielsa is without the pair following Inter's actions.
Bielsa is unhappy the players were not able to link-up with the squad and wants the regulatory 48-hour period for players to join their national teams extending.
"They weren't going to be able to meet the demands of professional football," said Bielsa.
"They were willing to come, but the situation was absolutely abnormal.
"They accepted the decision with sadness and disappointed because they have great identity with the national team.
"But I told them that asking them not to travel in these circumstances showed that we value and recognise them as players.
"If a player is going to play in different continents, he should arrive five days before."
