Mancini wants Inter success

New Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini has been speaking for the first time since taking charge.

After a prolonged contractual wrangle with Lazio, Inter finally secured Mancini's signature on Wednesday.

"I think this is ideal," Mancini said.

"Our aim is to play in a good way. Inter are one of the most important clubs in the world.

"They want to win and I want to win too."

Mancini was quick to deny renewed speculation that Christian Vieri was going to leave the club.

"He's an Inter player and I think he's one of world's most important strikers," said Mancini.

"Any team who has a big player shouldn't sell him to strengthen an opponent and I don't see there being any troubles with him playing with Adriano.

"I'm really happy to train this team and these players. Inter have big players and everyone will have to show something in the championship or in the Champions League.

Mancini was also more than happy to have Juan Sebastian Veron in his squad - who has arrived on loan from Chelsea.

"Veron? It wasn't my suggestion, the club purchased him before my arrival," he said. "Anyway, I think that he's one of the world's strongest midfielders.

"It's important he will do what he's able to do."

Argentine defender Nicolas Burdisso was also talking about joining Inter, following his transfer from Boca Juniors.

"I am very happy about arriving at Inter," he said.

"This is a great experience for me and it makes me feel like I am starting my career again.

"This is a dream come true."
